‘Howzat’ – Not out,
in support of CHSW

NDE donate 'Howzat' bear back to the CHSW

This year, CHSW united businesses, local artists, and the community in an inspiring public sculpture trail featuring 25 captivating 5-foot-tall bears in and around North Devon.

These remarkable bears are not just sculptures; they are exquisite works of art crafted by some of the region’s most renowned artists. They symbolise the compassionate care provided by our hospice to families in need – truly, they are ‘bears that care.’

As a part of the bear hunt initiative, the bears went to auction after the event had come to an end. Our team were so inspired by the cause that we felt it was only right to support it in anyway we could. We successfully bid on the cricket themed ‘Howzat’ bear, which has now been returned to the hospice for the enjoyment of children and their families.

We wanted to donate ‘Howzat’ back to not only show our gratitude to the CHSW but also ensure that the bear will bring joy and comfort to those who need it most. We are proud to stand alongside the children, young people, and families who spend time at the hospice.
